1.Is the cutting board ready to use?

Yes, our cutting boards are ready to use. We treat every cutting board with Food-Grade mineral oil to prevent cracking and warping. However, it is recommended to rinse it before first use.

2. How to clean and maintain the wood cutting board?

For clean: Simply wash using warm water and a small amount of dish soap. Rinse, wipe clean and allow to dry in an upright position.

For maintenance: Your cutting board won't warp, crack or splinter and will last you years if it's properly maintained. We recommend maintaining your cutting board every 4-5 washes. Hand wash and completely dry your cutting board. Apply mineral oil to your cutting board, dry overnight. Reapply if necessary.

Attention: Do not put in dishwasher. Do not soak in water. Do not leave on a wet surface. Do not store in a humid area. Keep away from direct sunlight.

4.What kind of wood should I choose?

Maple and walnut are both hardwoods. They offer natural toughness, fine even texture makes an excellent choice for cutting boards. The main difference between the wood types is the color and grain.

If stunning engraving is your top priority then maple is for you. It is light in color and full of subtle grain marks which is better for presenting engravings.

If you prefer the characteristic dark-colored wood and attractive grain patterns, walnut is the way to go. Adding your personal touch by engraving on walnut is subtle and in low contrast. This means walnut is better for revealing the natural beauty of the wood.

Whichever wood type you choose, you will receive a beautiful and unique cutting board.

Yes, if you require us to do so, we could send it to you via email before it is engraved on your board.
